When your child is playing outdoors, he expects to have freedom as he plays. So don’t be surprise when he brushes your hand off as he climbs the slide. Although your intention is to make sure that he will not fall, he will perceive your hand as something that is getting in the way between him and his adventure.
Just how much looking after is enough for your growing toddler? Once he is playing with the outdoor
toy, you can’t help but worry about his safety. And who wouldn’t? After all the toy injury possibility is always there.
If your child is not independent enough to run without falling or holding something without losing his grip, then play with him outside because he will surely need you around. Although older kids will play with your child, they will not have an idea if a certain activity will be challenging for him. If your child is too young to play with bigger kids, you can take him to the play ground when there are few people there. You can swing with him or guide him as he goes down the slide. This is one of the great ways to introduce him to the outdoor toys for kids and you are sure that he will not get hurt.
But this is not going to last forever. You have to realize when your child is ready to play on his own and meet other kids of his age. Although playing with him is a great bonding moment for you, your child will need to socialize with other kids and have fun with them. They still need you to be around of course, but you will have to watch him from a distance.
To make you feel at ease while allowing your child to play with the childrens
outdoor toys, teach him how to take care of himself before heading to the area. Tell him not to climb the slide if it is too crowded because he or one of his friends will fall. Remind him to always watch his steps to avoid stumbling especially when he is in a high area. He also has to hold the bars or rope really tightly when climbing or swinging.
It is also important that you know the children your child is playing with. There are some children who are impatient and might push your child while he is playing with one of the outdoor play toys. Get to know the other adults in the play ground. They may know something about the kids that you don’t.
It is normal for parents to look after their children. They only want to make sure that their children are safe. As much as possible, they don’t want them to get hurt. But they should also let their children be. They have to understand that their children need space to enjoy playing with the Outdoor Educational Toys. They have to trust that their children will follow what they were told but they will be positioned nearby just in case their kids need their assistance.
