We usually take for granted what we can learn from children. Wait, learn from children? Or is it the other way around? Well guess what, you read it right. We can learn from children. We often ignore the fact that we have forgotten the childish ways that could have allowed us to experience life better.
One example is playing with Outdoor Educational Toys. Children are not afraid to climb because they know they’ll be able to enjoy the slide. They know that after the climb, they’ll be able to have more fun. There is the risk of falling but the climb anyway.
For most adults, life started to get boring and difficult that their fascination for it seized. And this is just one thing that we should start learning from children; the fascination for the simplicity of life. We can start by being thankful with what we have instead of moping on what we don’t. The outdoor toys children enjoy should remind us of that. They play with whatever is there. Have you ever heard a child say I won’t have fun with my swing until I get a see-saw?
Another amazing thing that adults can learn from children is their lack of discrimination. They don’t really care if you’re Asian or Caucasian. As long as you treat them right and you have fun with them, they don’t really care. They can make friends with just about anyone until adults intervened. For them, everyone is welcome, there are no prejudices. They treat others the way they have been treated. They don’t have problem sharing their outdoor toys for kids.
Children are like that. As long as they are not taught to do otherwise, they will continue to be that way.
How many adults do you know who are brave enough to say they are wrong and apologize for it? What most adults have grown to master is the art of blaming others for their mistakes. They blame the traffic, they blame the printer, and they blame other people. For most, it is easier that way. If you haven’t notice, children are very honest and humble. They admit it when they are wrong and they apologize. And when they say sorry, they are sincere about it.
Children are not afraid to take risks as well. Let’s go back to playing with their outdoor toys. Children are always at risk of falling or getting hurt. And when they do, they cry and after that, they’ll try it again. They will not give up running just because they tripped a couple of times. They’ll get up and continue to have fun but are more careful.
In the adult world, it is different. An overweight individual gives up on a diet program after a week because she did not lose weight; a businessman became alcoholic because he lost in his investment. The list can go on. Everyone knows how difficult it is to get back on their knees but it is not an excuse to stay on the ground.
When we take a closer look, there is so much we can learn from the way children play with their outdoor play toys. Children have so much to teach us if we just humble ourselves to learn from them
