We live in a world where everyone is seemed to be in a hurry. The time of most parents is usually spent in the office or in dinners with clients. Many come home late and find their children asleep and when they get up the next morning, everyone is in a rush.

This scenario makes it difficult for parents to find time to bond with their kids. That is why it is important to have a worthwhile activity with your kids when you are home. One way of making that happen is to be involved in your children’s world. You can play with them in their childrens plastic playground and outdoor toys or do artworks with them. These are simple yet important activities for your children.

You can follow these steps to ensure that you will have an ideal bonding time and activity with your child:

1. Plan the activity. Although you can always do spontaneous activities with your children, it is often difficult if you have a job that requires you to spend more time at the office. Planning the activity includes designating a day or days especially for your child. It does not have to be a whole day activity. You can have a movie date every Friday evening, or a play date with the outdoor activity toys on Saturday afternoon. Once your child gets use to this idea, he will have something to look forward to every week. If you won’t be able to make it on your parent-child date, tell your child ahead of time to set his expectations. Explain the reason why and make it up to him. But you have to avoid this though.
2. Think of a surprise activity from time to time. Once your child gets used to the idea of a movie date every Friday, you can change it into something else. Or you can add another detail to the plan like eating his favorite ice cream. You can take him to a theme park Instead of your usual childrens outdoor toys day every Saturday
3. Make sure that the schedule works well with your job. Don’t schedule your date with your child during the busiest day of the week. Communicate your schedule with your employer as well. Tell them that you can only work extra hours at the office during certain days of the week. If your service is really needed by the company, call your child and apologize.  Let him know why you have to stay longer at the office. Ask him what you can do to make it up to him and do whatever you promised him to do. Don’t promise anything that you cannot keep. It will just make him more disappointed.
4. Bond with your child every time you go home early. You can spend some time at the outdoor toy and play. You can also teach him how to do some things in the kitchen like naming the utensils and ingredients. You can also let him mix some of the ingredients if it is safe for him.
